Here we go again...

Where I sit.. Here we go again, we have the creationists and Darwinists trying to prove who's right and who's wrong. Once again, as a country going backwards some 75+ years and asking ourselves what we should believe.
Come on people, "intelligent design" is nothing more than the Scopes Monkey Trials all over again. We've just gone an given a new name. Americans are SOOO quick to forget the lessons of our past, when will we learn???

Where I sit..

Okay, now they've really done it, Apple has eliminated the eMac for consumers. That range from Mac Mini to iMac ($499-$1299) has no product. I'd sure like to get a new mac here soon as I am soldiering on with an 2001 iMac G3 (Indigo, 500Mhz, CD-RW) It's slow, but its a mac. I will NEVER go back to windoze, ever.
The $499-$1299 (eMac) was in my price range and represented a really great value for the money, I certainly hope that they (Apple) come up with something that is of a similar or better value. I ain't got lots to spend, I hope they don't muck it up.

This isn't good...

I just read about Apple is receiving pressure from the music industry to raise the price of iTunes downloads. NOT GOOD, I haven't yet downloaded anything from iTunes, but I am planning to buy some of their gift cards. If the prices go up, that will probably be the end of that. I am barely getting by on what I make now - thanks, George W. Bush, you haven't helped!

It wasn't until this year that I was even able to afford broadband access (it has dropped in price!) which you need to buy from iTunes. Now, it looks like the price will go up - I may not end up buying much from iTunes after all. It's just another case of the rich keep getting richer and the rest of America is paying for it.

I don't have a new car, a new house or new computer (it's a four year old iMac!) or even a cell phone for that matter. I just can't justify the expense when it comes to taking care of my responsibilities.

I pay my taxes, I work hard, why should I be subjected to the "Fabulous Life of Mariah Carey" or some other entertainer who I could care less about. I don't even care that she was paid $29 million dollars to leave her former record company because her sales had tanked so badly. I'll never see a single penny of that money or much less $29 million in my lifetime, so why should it even be on TV?

If Apple is forced to raise the prices on iTunes, piracy WILL go back up, CD sales will again fall and once again, who will suffer? US - the average consumer, that can barely afford to be shaken down by the music industry as it is now. I'm sure some of our favorite musicians (other than Mariah Carey) will feel the pinch too.
